Documents and information relevant to the Cold River LAC.
The Cold River LAC is temporarily inactive. Please contact Tracie Sales with any questions.
Riverfront municipalities include Acworth, Alstead, Langdon, Lempster and Walpole. To check if an address is in the designated river corridor, use the designated river mapper.
The Cold River, designated in 1999, runs 24 miles from Acworth to its confluence with the Connecticut River in Walpole. It runs through a mostly rural landscape dotted with small villages and drops nearly 980 feet, giving it the animated river characteristic it is known for. The river is home to Class II and III rapids for running during spring high water and is popular with kayakers and canoeists.
