The Isinglass River runs 18 miles from Strafford to its confluence with the Cocheco River in Rochester. It was designated in 2002 for its outstanding natural beauty and good quality water supply, as well as its numerous historical, educational, recreational and wildlife features. Much of the Isinglass River remains in a natural state.
